Spotswood Country ClubWorking at Spotswood Country Club for the past four months has been a great experience. I work with an extremely high-functioning group of people that I have already learned so much from. As a server for banquet events, I have been given a great amount of responsibility to see the events through from the beginning to end. I work with other servers as a team to make a vision into reality. This has been an incredibly valuable experience, and I am eager to continue to learn more about the club industry.
Themed Brunch Over the course of nine months, I worked alongside five other Hospitality Management students to create a unique Woodstock-themed event for 128 guests. We researched the festival, music, and art of the time period to make our guests feel as if they had traveled back to the year of 1969. We developed a budget, menu, and website for both guests and staff members. On the day of the event, we trained and led staff members through the entire process.
Early KateringEarly Katering allowed me to learn all facets of the catering process. The majority of the staff played all roles: back-of-house food preparation, setting up and decorating for events, and serving the guests attending the events. I was also able to shadow and assist with preparatory meetings including food tastings and site visits.
